New Benchmark Tests Show Beauchamp FundManager Capable of Processing 20,000 Trades per Hour
14 August 2006
Linedata Services, a leading provider of software and services to the global financial services marketplace, today released the results of performance tests for Beauchamp FundManager, part of Linedata’s specialist hedge fund software suite.
The latest in a series of internal benchmarking tests have verified that Beauchamp FundManager is capable of processing 20,000 trades per hour across a sample of instrument and trade types.
Beauchamp FundManager is a highly configurable and scalable portfolio management system, offering a tamper-proof platform for trade capture, P&L and portfolio analysis, custom report design, and automated reconciliations with counterparties. FundManager has been installed with over 250 hedge fund management companies around the world, each managing anywhere from $10 million to $12 billion of hedge fund assets.
Trades were entered into FundManager via its bulk upload facility and then processed to completion, including all P&L calculations and price updates.
Jon Swainson, Head of Database Administration & Hosted Services for the Beauchamp product suite, commented ‘The objective of the benchmark test was to confirm that FundManager, running on hardware costing less than £10,000, could provide the data processing and STP performance necessary for large-scale trading operations, such as statistical arbitrage hedge funds’.
‘We’re very pleased about what these test results mean for our clients.’ said Clare Flynn Levy, President of Beauchamp, ‘High volume hedge funds have, in the past, struggled to model their business on bulky legacy systems designed for institutions – with Beauchamp they have the choice of a relatively inexpensive piece of software which is quick to implement and has been designed specifically for their needs’.
The benchmark tests were carried out on a Dell PowerEdge 1850 Server with twin 3.4Ghz dual cores EM64T with 4GB RAM and two 15k RPM 73GB Raid1 disks running 64 bit Windows and Standard Oracle 10.2 x64.
